Be strict to your rules first
Once there was a queen of some state. She wanted her kid to
leave sweets. Her kid used to eat much sweets and he was getting fat. Her mother
worried for him too much. She tried a lot for making him away from sweets but
in vain. He became lazy and fond of more sweets. It was a matter of worry for
the whole family. The kid himself didn’t want to leave sweets. They discussed with
some other clerics but result was not fruitful. The family members one day sat together
and decided for a decision to visit a Gurukul to a teacher and asked there the
solution of their problem. The family was hopeful that there would be some
solution for their matter.
The queen visited a Gurukul and met the teacher there. She put
her problem in front of him and asked him to find for a solution anyhow. The teacher
who was the senior most in that Gurukul asked for one month time and to approach
him later with the kid, then he would reply whether he could help or not. The queen
left and waited for one month. After one month she again visited the Gurukul
and asked for the solution. The teacher said to leave the kid at the Gurukul,
he could let him leave sweets. The queen was curious to know the reason why the
teacher did not do same earlier. She asked him about her wish to know the
answer of her question. The teacher replied that he himself was fond of sweets
too much. He tried himself first to leave sweets. For one month he compelled
himself not to have sweets and he won. Again the teacher said that after having
confidence that he would not have sweets then, he asked the queen to leave her kid
for one month in the Gurukul.
Moral lesson – first we must follow what we want from others.
